Enemies and Threats

Every fortress death in The Legend of Mala Tokmachka usually traces to misread threat priority — repairing ground walls while drones delete your power spine, or stacking anti-air while artillery grinds the foundation. Steam and press materials agree on a combined arms roster: assault groups, armored vehicles, artillery, drones, aircraft, and missiles. This tier-style guide ranks how dangerous each threat is in preview logic, which modules counter them, and where to deepen reading on the wiki.

We do not invent hidden enemy names or boss phases pre-launch. Rankings reflect official descriptions and trailer behavior until dataminers publish stats.

Ground tier notes

Assault groups — A-tier early

Swarms punish single-lane forts and wasted cannon fire. Machine guns and overlapping fields are the preview S-tier answer. See Weapons tier list for MG placement.

Armored vehicles — S-tier mid

Trailers show slow heavy units absorbing chip damage. Cannons become mandatory; machine guns alone fall to B-tier effectiveness.

Artillery — S-tier structural

Artillery is dangerous because it attacks your economy — forcing repairs that delay expansion. Counter with Repair and Resources discipline, not only DPS.

Air tier notes

Drones — A-tier mid

Fast, often low altitude in TD tradition. Require dedicated AA before you add a fourth cannon floor. Power draw matters; see Radar and Power Systems.

Aircraft — S-tier mid-late

Bypass ground-only designs entirely. If you skipped Anti-Air Defense, aircraft rank SS-tier threat against your run.

Missiles — SS-tier late preview

Likely burst damage against modules or walls. Counter with detection, intercept weapons, and sacrificial outer layers.

Escalation curve

Steam states waves become larger, faster, and more dangerous over time. Preview escalation model:

  1. Waves 1–X — Ground swarms teach repair rhythm.
  2. Mid — Armor + first air units combined.
  3. Late preview — Artillery + missiles stress power grid.

Walkthrough: First Days maps this to a day-by-day checklist without fake wave numbers.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Are these official enemy names?

Categories match Steam store copy. Specific unit names may differ in-game after launch.

Which threat kills most beginners?

Preview analysis: aircraft bypassing ground-only forts, then artillery attrition.

Is there a boss wave?

Not confirmed pre-launch — endless escalation is the stated design.

Do enemies target power modules?

Trailers suggest focused fire on weak blocks — protect your spine.

Will this page rank weapons too?

Use Weapons tier list for gun rankings; this page ranks threats.
